Holy wow, can this lady ever spin a yarn! I was eager to get my hands on this and devoured it in one sitting. As much as I love returning to the picturesque North Carolina coast, it was the driving plot and compelling storyline that grabbed my attention and kept me reading. I went into this blind, without reading the synopsis, and I highly recommend it. If you want the full effect, stop reading my review now and start reading this phenomenal novel.Lane McCord grew up in foster care but she’s wor

This is a little out of sequence, because Books 1. Dune the House Atreides-199 & 2. House Harkonnen - 2000, should be read before to get the best understanding out of the series. At first I expected the Harkonnen's to be the evil that they were display in Frank Herbert first series, but the plot explains how they became so evil and mad.

I do not like murder in a book but I really enjoy these characters and their activities! Well done! Enjoy!

I find Brian Herbert’s prequels to be paradoxically very interesting plot lines that are poorly written. This opinion is shared by most readers I think. Although this one still has a few instances of over explaining and lack of sufficient setup, this book is one of his best that I have read. The first few of his books I read, my hand itched for a red pen. With this trilogy, I didn’t feel that at all.Dune fanatics are still going to have problems with what they feel is off-canon plot points, b

Like many of you I have read Dune dozens of times. This isn’t Dune but it good enough. You’ll enjoy it.
This third book of the series of prequels …
This third book of the series of prequels to the original Dune series is a satisfying tapestry of politics, intrigue, and action leading to the birth of Paul Atreides and the settling down of the turmoil that has been the Imperium throughout the three-book series. Of course, the new calm and order will only be temporary we know, as more mayhem and disorder will break out at the point where the original Dune novel begins. As it happens, pretty much everybody has declared war on everybody else. When replacing these on my hearing aids before I was pay more for one pair than I did for the entire order of these. They fit my ear canal better too. I will buy these again when I need replacements. Really are a great value.

For fans of the greatest SF saga of all time, this precursor tale sets the table and answers questions one may have as he or she reads the classic, Dune. Chronologically, there are still two volumes to go before one gets to Dune and I look forward to reading them before I delve once again into Dune.
